Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 3, 2026
Maryman & Associates, Inc. (“Maryman,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect information when you visit maryman.com, contact us, request a consultation, use the Client Intake Form, or otherwise interact with our online services.
Important professional notice: Information submitted through this public website or the Client Intake Form does not create an attorney-client relationship, forensic examiner-client relationship, or other professional relationship until Maryman confirms the engagement in writing. Do not submit passwords, access credentials, Social Security numbers, payment-card information, medical information, privileged communications, trade secrets, or other highly sensitive material through a public form unless Maryman has provided a secure method for that specific purpose.
Information we collect
- Contact and business information: name, email address, telephone number, company or organization, role, and information included in a request.
- Request and matter information: details you choose to provide about an incident, investigation, litigation-support need, cybersecurity matter, or other service request. Please use a secure Maryman-approved channel for confidential or privileged material.
- Client Personal Data: information received from client-owned or client-controlled equipment, accounts, networks, or systems for collection, processing, storage, and analysis under a client or legal-advisor instruction.
- Technical information: IP address, browser and device information, referring page, pages viewed, timestamps, security events, and cookie or consent preferences.
- Third-party form information: the Client Intake Form is hosted by Typeform. Typeform may collect information and set functional cookies when you open or use that form.
How we use information
- Respond to requests, communicate with you, and evaluate or arrange requested services.
- Provide incident response, digital forensics, cyber investigation, litigation support, and related professional services under an engagement or client instruction.
- Operate, maintain, secure, and improve the website and detect fraud, abuse, or security incidents.
- Remember cookie and privacy choices and measure website use only when the applicable consent has been provided.
- Comply with legal obligations, protect rights and safety, resolve disputes, and establish or defend legal claims.
Client Personal Data and confidentiality
Maryman processes Client Personal Data only for the purposes directed by the client and/or the client’s legal advisors, subject to the applicable engagement, instructions, confidentiality obligations, and law. We do not use Client Personal Data for unrelated advertising or independent commercial purposes. Client-specific retention, return, deletion, access, and disclosure requirements are governed by the applicable engagement and client instructions.
Cookies and consent
Maryman uses necessary cookies for security, website operation, session management, and CookieYes consent preferences. Optional analytics or third-party service cookies are intended to load only after you choose the applicable category in the CookieYes banner. Maryman does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
CookieYes manages the consent banner, preference center, consent log, and live cookie declaration. You can accept, reject, or customize optional cookies and change your choices through the CookieYes preference controls.
Live CookieYes cookie declaration:
The declaration is updated from the current CookieYes scan. The inventory may change when website scripts, forms, or service providers change, so Maryman reviews the declaration after material changes.
Third-party service providers
- CookieYes: consent management, preference storage, consent logging, and cookie declaration.
- Typeform: Client Intake Form hosting and submission processing when you choose to open or use the form. Typeform may set functional cookies and processes information under its own terms and privacy policy.
- Cloudflare and hosting providers: security, bot management, hosting, delivery, and technical reliability.
- WordPress and website service providers: website administration, content delivery, maintenance, and security.
Maryman does not authorize service providers to use Client Personal Data for unrelated purposes. We may also disclose information when required by law, court order, subpoena, professional obligation, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transaction.
Retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, the applicable engagement, client instructions, legal obligations, dispute resolution, security, and professional recordkeeping. As a general website target, inquiries are reviewed for deletion or de-identification approximately 24 months after the last substantive contact when no continuing relationship, legal hold, or documented business need applies. CookieYes consent records are retained long enough to document consent and preference history. Security logs are generally retained for approximately 30 to 90 days unless a longer period is needed for an incident or legal requirement. Client Personal Data follows the applicable engagement, client instruction, litigation hold, and legal retention requirements.
California privacy rights
California residents may have rights to know or access personal information, request deletion, correct inaccurate information, opt out of a sale or sharing of personal information, limit certain uses of sensitive personal information, and receive equal service and price. Maryman honors Global Privacy Control (GPC) as a browser-based opt-out preference signal where required by applicable law. Because Maryman does not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, no sale or sharing activity is intended through this website.
To submit a privacy request, contact joe.greenfield@maryman.com with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We may verify your identity before completing a request and will respond within the time required by applicable law.
Security
Maryman uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information and the risks of processing. No transmission or storage system is completely secure. For confidential case information, use the secure method identified in the applicable engagement rather than a public website form.
International visitors, children, and updates
Service providers may process information in the United States and other locations where they operate. We use appropriate safeguards where required by law. The website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website.
We may update this policy when our services, technology, vendors, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy with a new Last updated date.
Minimum Service Fee Policy
Cancellation Policy
Based upon our past experiences, we have found it necessary to establish a 48-hour cancellation policy. If we have not received at least 48 hours’ notice of the cancellation of a service item, we will invoice our two-hour minimum service fee.
Client Personal Data: Client Personal Data is information from equipment and networks owned, controlled, or operated by our clients that Maryman receives for collection, processing, storage, and analysis in accordance with the instructions of the client and/or the client’s legal advisors. Maryman processes Client Personal Data only for the purposes directed by the client, the applicable engagement, and law. We do not use Client Personal Data for unrelated advertising or independent commercial purposes. Retention, return, deletion, access, and disclosure requirements are governed by the applicable engagement and client instructions.
